The Laboratory Wing and the Super Laboratory Wing play a core role among research facilities. They provide a wide range of firms with opportunities to embody their creativity and stimulate themselves through interaction in a natural and comfortable environment.
The Sumitomo Hall was donated to Kansai Research Institute by 20 companies of the Sumitomo Group as a part of their business to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the opening of Besshi Copper Mine.
The Interaction Wing offers a relaxing space that helps improve the quality of research and daily life. A hotel (from 4F to 6F), restaurants, a bank, and other commercial facilities are also available.
The sundial was constructed in accordance with the design that won the first prize of the International Design Competition for "A Square with a Monument" at KEIHANNA INTERACTION PLAZA INC. in 1991. It was selected out of 305 entries submitted from 26 nations (189 entries from Japan and 116 entries from overseas).
The first heliport was built on the roof of the Laboratory Wing in Kansai Science City. A twenty-minute flight connects Kansai International Airport and Kansai Science City.
